New Player Festival

Come try lacrosse at our New Player Festival!

The 2023 Granite Bay Youth Lacrosse New Player Festival for anyone K-8 interested in trying lacrosse will be on Sunday October 15th.  New players get to experience the fun of lacrosse while learning fundamental skills and participating in drills and games.  All participants will receive a new stick and a ball to keep as a part of the $35 registration!  All 6U Players (K and 1st Grade) will receive a Warp Mini stick specifically designed for new 6U players.  Girls 8U and older will receive a full sized girls' stick, and Boys 8U and above will receive a full sized boys' stick.  Each of those sticks is a $40+ value - so come out for a fun afternoon and get your own stick at a great price.

  • Cost:  $35 to attend clinic and get a new $40-50 stick and ball you get to keep

To help encourage everyone to get the word out, this year we will be giving a $100 Lacrosse Fanatic Gift Certificate to the person who gets the most friends to register for the New Player Festival. There is a field on the registration form where attendees can indicate who invited them. So please invite friends, neighbors, and teammates from other sports - then just tell them to include your name when they register.   If you invite a friend, please come and play with them. No need for returning players to register.

How is this different from the Sunday Fall Clinics that new players can also attend?

  • The Sunday Fall Clinics are for new and experienced players and provide loaner gear and sticks so older kids (3rd grade and up) can play with real balls and goggles for girls and full pads for boys.
  • The Sunday Fall Clinics are closer to activities that each age group would experience in a regular practice during the spring season, and the New Player Festival is just for new players to learn some fundamental skills while playing with soft balls and no pads.  Both are fun and informal settings that new players can enjoy, but the New Player Festival provides a slightly easier starting point for kids uncertain of starting with full gear and real balls.
  • The Sunday Fall Clinics are free to attend, but require a USA Lacrosse Membership that costs $30 that is good for a year, and the New Player Festival costs $35 so each new player can get a new stick to take home and keep.  So even if you're a new player that has attended the Sunday Clinics - make sure to also register for the New Player Festival to get your own stick!
