Introduction

Granite Bay Youth Lacrosse is pleased to offer a City League program for players in the 10U age group, specifically tailored for those just starting out.

The boys 10U City League program requires full lacrosse equipment - which includes helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, mouth guard and cup and cleats - such as standard soccer cleats.  Equipment may be rented at no cost.  Rental equipment includes helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and gloves; players must obtain their own mouth guard, cup, and cleats.

Those 8U players who are interested in playing 10U full-equipment lacrosse may be considered for play at this level if deemed appropriate by the parents, the player, and coaches.

The object of the game is to score more goals than your opponent.  Lacrosse a fast-paced, high scoring game, and is the fastest growing sport - particularly in California.   There are many opportunities to play lacrosse at all levels including youth and high school, club and college.

This is a full equipment developmental league for younger, new players and for players who need to acquire more skills before they are ready to play at the next level.

Granite Bay’s City League was designed to avoid most scheduling conflicts with other sports and activities.  City League is ideal for players with minimal to no lacrosse experience, and each season a substantial number of players are brand new to lacrosse.

Most City League players will be in 4th grade or younger. Please visit our age eligibility page for more information

Season Length, Practices, Games, and Locations

Our City League program runs from late February - mid May.

Practices are generally held twice weekly in Granite Bay.

After a few weeks of practices, the boys are placed on City League teams.

Games start in March and are held on Friday evenings in Granite Bay, Folsom, Fair Oaks, Sacramento or El Dorado Hills.  This is by design to avoid most conflicts with other sports and activities.  There are opportunities for optional festivals, and jamborees which may occur on weekends and offer players additional playing time if they desire.
